For the first time, the Red Dot Design Award 2019 in the Product Design category has been awarded to Liebherr appliances for professional use. From more than 5,500 entries, an international jury of experts awarded the coveted seal of approval for design quality for the Liebherr supermarket chest freezers and the FreezerTop SFT 1223 freezer cabinet.

“The Red Dot Award is a great recognition of an excellent design achievement. With the award-winning products, we have succeeded in combining attractive design, particular user-friendliness and functionality down to the smallest detail. In addition, the appliances represent an important building block for food retailing, for example in upgrading business premises and stores as a whole”, says Stefan Berchtold, Sales Manager Food Retail at Liebherr-Hausgeräte Vertriebs- und Service GmbH.

The plug-in chests were specially developed for professional use in food retailing and only require a power connection for commissioning. They enable an optimal presentation of goods, are particularly robust and ideally suited for the requirements of continuous operation. They are easy to fill, make hygienic cleaning easier, work extremely reliably and are also very economical to use due to their low power consumption.
The freezer cabinet (FreezerTop SFT 1223) is the ideal addition to the existing chest portfolio due to its optimised space utilisation and it presents goods at customers’ eye level.

The award-winning Liebherr appliances will be presented for a year at the Red Dot Museum in Essen, the largest museum for contemporary design. The Red Dot Award dates back to 1954. It is now one of the largest and best-known design competitions in the world. The official award ceremony will take place on 8 July 2019 at the Aalto Theatre in Essen in front of more than 1,000 international guests.
